Gamera Vs. Jiger (1970)

A huge stone idol is removed from its native land, unleashing the horrible beast Jiger upon Japan. After Gamera is incapacitated and impregnated by Jiger, it’s up to Tommy and Hiroshi to rescue Gamera from being devoured from the inside out by the parasitic baby Jiger.

Umm, aka Gamera Vs. Jiger

Gamera gets knocked up!!! Well, that would be my tagline anyway. The tables are turned in this, the 6th entry into the Gamera saga, as this time it’s up to the children to save Gamera. The highlight of this film is definitely the submarine ride the children take to the center of Gamera.

♫♫Some people call me the space cowboy…♫♫

This isn’t a bad entry into the series, Jiger is kinda lame (a big triceratops with a death-ray), but the kids are tolerable and they wear pants, so they’re all right with me. This film also has the honor of containing the most disgusting scene in any Gamera film ever. That would be the footage of an elephant getting its trunk slit open and hundreds of parasitic worms come pouring out. Be sure to keep an eye out, it’s really gross.
